 Business Analyst - Healthcare and Government Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for healthcare and government projects, particularly with the State Agencies, ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
  • Develop data mappings, workflow models, and test cases to support system enhancements, compliance mandates, and process improvements.
  • Create and execute comprehensive testing plans, working with QA and business teams to validate system functionality and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Model and optimize business processes, identifying solution options and recommending designs to address healthcare and government challenges.
  • Support the development of operational procedures and documentation for post-implementation handoff to business units.
  • Facilitate requirement workshops and stakeholder meetings, capturing detailed notes and ensuring clear communication across teams.
  • Provide production support, troubleshooting issues, and identifying opportunities to enhance system efficiency and compliance.
  • Contribute to project planning, providing effort estimates and ensuring requirements align with project scope and timelines.
  • Stay current with healthcare and government regulations, such as HIPAA or CMS mandates, to inform analysis and recommendations.
Required Skills and Qualifications Business Analysis (50%)
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with expertise in gathering requirements, developing specifications, and supporting testing in healthcare or government settings.
  • Strong proficiency in creating data mappings, process models, and test cases to support system changes and compliance initiatives.
  • Experience with requirement management tools like Jira, Confluence, or MS Visio for documentation and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to engage stakeholders and translate complex needs into actionable requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a regulatory-driven environment.
Healthcare and Government Expertise (50%)
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare processes, such as claims, provider management, or patient data systems, and their regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS).
  • Experience with government projects, ideally with the or similar state agencies, supporting compliance-driven initiatives.
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and government workflows, including data integration and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess workflows, identify gaps, and propose solutions that meet business and compliance needs.
Additional Considerations
  • Experience with state government initiatives is highly valued.
  • Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or Agile Analysis Certification are a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure) or healthcare platforms is advantageous.
  • Candidates must be located within 20 miles of Boston to support onsite work 2-3 times per week.
  • Proactive problem-solving and a collaborative mindset are essential for success.
