Job Description
Job Title: Inventory Management Specialist
Location: Augusta, ME
A Maine-based organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Management Specialist to join their operations team. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate stock levels, supporting field teams, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and equipment.
The right candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid grasp of inventory management principles, and experience with inventory systems—Fishbowl knowledge is a bonus.

- Previous experience in inventory management or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management software (Fishbowl preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Able to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Oversee day-to-day inventory operations to support technical field teams.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
- Forecast inventory needs and manage procurement to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Receive incoming shipments and match against packing slips for accuracy.
- Coordinate timely distribution of equipment and supplies to internal staff and field locations.
- Maintain inventory records and generate reports for internal use.
- Train staff on inventory best practices and system usage.
- Assist with developing and improving inventory control procedures.
- Monitor key inventory metrics and provide regular updates to management.
- Ensure accurate data entry and consistent use of inventory management systems.
- Track vendor quotes, shipments, and approvals for payment processing.
