Project Manager - Healthcare and Government Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects for healthcare and government clients, particularly with the State-Based projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including business analysts, technical staff, and external vendors, to define project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Manage stakeholder meetings, prepare status reports, presentations, and dashboards, and provide updates to senior leadership using tools like Jira or MS Project.
  • Oversee project financials, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Facilitate requirement gathering and workflow assessments, collaborating with business units to address healthcare and government compliance needs.
  • Drive adoption of Agile methodologies, adapting project structures to support iterative delivery and client expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, such as HIPAA or CMS mandates, during project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project roadmaps, aligning with strategic priorities and fostering long-term client relationships.
  • Identify and resolve risks, dependencies, and issues, proactively implementing solutions to maintain project momentum.
  • Mentor team members on project management best practices, promoting a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications Project Management (50%)
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in healthcare or government settings, with a proven ability to deliver complex, high-visibility initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in project planning, financial management, and resource coordination using tools like Jira, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
  • Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with flexibility to adapt to client-driven project structures.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
Healthcare and Government Expertise (50%)
  • Deep understanding of healthcare processes and regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, or state-specific compliance requirements.
  • Experience with government projects, ideally with the State-funded projects or similar state agencies, managing mandates, or public sector initiatives.
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, such as claims processing, provider directories, or patient data management, and their integration with government workflows.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with diverse teams, including technical, business, and vendor partners, in a regulatory-driven environment.
Additional Considerations
  • Experience with similar state government initiatives is highly valued.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist are a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools (e.g., AWS, Azure) or healthcare IT systems is advantageous.
  • Candidates must be located within 20 miles of Boston to support onsite work 2-3 times per week.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing client needs are essential.
