Senior Data Solutions Consultant Key Responsibilities
  • Lead data strategy and governance initiatives, assessing data management maturity and addressing gaps in data quality, architecture, analytics, metadata, and master data management.
  • Architect and implement data platforms, including data lakes, data stores, ingestion pipelines, transformations, and API services, using cloud-based technologies.
  • Drive data modernization efforts, migrating clients from on-premises data platforms to cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Design and build complex data pipelines for streaming or batch processing, leveraging tools like Snowflake, RedShift, Azure SQL/Synapse, or Databricks.
  • Develop advanced analytics and data visualization solutions using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or Spotfire, deploying enterprise-wide reporting systems.
  • Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI techniques using tools like Python, R, Alteryx, or RapidMiner to deliver actionable insights.
  • Conduct information-gathering sessions, prepare client presentations, and deliver prototypes to address business needs and pain points.
  • Collaborate with clients to translate business requirements into technical data solutions, ensuring alignment across multiple business functions and domains.
  • Mentor teams on data architecture, engineering, and analytics best practices, fostering adoption of modern data technologies and governance frameworks.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives, such as business development, hiring, training, or process improvements, to support organizational growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications Data Strategy and Governance (50%)
  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, analytics, or governance, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-level data solutions.
  • Expertise in data management maturity assessments, identifying gaps in data quality, governance, and analytics in complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, RedShift, Databricks).
  • Experience leading data modernization initiatives, including platform migrations and tool adoption across multiple business domains.
  • Ability to deliver client presentations, prototypes, and recommendations based on rigorous problem-solving and data-driven insights.
Data Engineering and Analytics (50%)
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, SQL) and data integration tools for building robust data pipelines.
  • Extensive experience with relational and dimensional database structures, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and best practices for deploying enterprise-wide reporting solutions.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, or AI tools (e.g., R, Alteryx, RapidMiner) to support advanced analytics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders across industries.
Additional Considerations
  • Experience with state or government data initiatives, particularly in healthcare or public sector contexts, is highly valued.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering) is preferred.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, or similar are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and mentoring teams on data governance or analytics practices is advantageous.
  • Candidates must be located within 20 miles of Boston to support occasional onsite collaboration.
