Job Overview
We’re seeking an Application Analyst to support a specialized scheduling and operations management platform used across service planning, scheduling, workforce management, day-of-operations support, and timekeeping. This role combines systems analysis with hands-on application administration and Tier 2 support across the full SDLC. To be considered, you should have experience supporting complex enterprise applications, strong troubleshooting skills, and comfort working in a hybrid/on-call environment.
Must Haves
- 3+ years in application analysis, administration, or enterprise application support
- Experience supporting SDLC activities (requirements, design, testing, release/implementation, support)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application behavior, environments, and integrations
- Ability to write clear functional/technical specifications and maintain support documentation/runbooks
- Experience provisioning users and managing roles/permissions appropriately
- Comfort running ad-hoc data queries and producing reports (SQL or similar)
- Experience escalating issues to infrastructure teams (server/network/database) and/or vendors
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and handle sensitive data with discretion
What the Client Needs You to Do
You’ll help keep a mission-critical operations platform stable, well-configured, and aligned to operational needs. This includes translating enhancement requests into documented requirements, managing foundational data and configurations, supporting releases and batch processing, and resolving incidents with strong documentation and timely escalation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the full application lifecycle: requirements, solution design, testing support, implementation, and steady-state operations
- Produce detailed specifications for enhancements, including functional and technical requirements
- Configure functional components and manage core data elements with appropriate version control
- Provide Tier 2 support: investigate issues, document findings, resolve where possible, and escalate when needed
- Create and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentation
- Provision users and maintain access permissions and account updates
- Perform environment support tasks such as release installs, promotions, and database refreshes
- Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot batch jobs and related downstream impacts
- Run ad-hoc queries and generate operational reports as requested
- Clarify intended system behavior for QA to support test planning and script development
- Communicate professionally with end users, vendors, and internal IT teams
