Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Developer to support the design and delivery of a mission-critical, cloud-native application in a fast-paced environment. This role requires deep expertise in serverless architecture and full-stack development. Candidates who demonstrate strong AWS capabilities, backend proficiency, and the ability to contribute immediately will be prioritized for interview consideration.


Must Haves

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including deployment and troubleshooting
  • 3+ years building serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK)
  • 3+ years of frontend development using React with modern frameworks (hooks, functional components)
  • 4+ years of backend development using Python
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL (RDS), including database design and query optimization
  • Proficiency with RESTful APIs, web services integration, and secure authentication mechanisms (e.g., Cognito)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) and Git-based version control

What the Client Needs You to Do
You will contribute to the design and implementation of a serverless platform that supports secure document submission and processing. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient solutions. Success in this position means delivering high-quality code, ensuring system reliability, and enabling seamless integration with enterprise systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-based applications using AWS services
  • Build and enhance serverless workflows using Lambda, Step Functions, and API Gateway
  • Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Implement backend services in Python to support application logic and integrations
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, database schemas, and data models within PostgreSQL
  • Integrate applications with external systems using REST and SOAP-based services
  • Manage file processing workflows, including upload validation and metadata handling
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture and deployment plans
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, track progress, and deliver solutions
  • Follow best practices for security, performance optimization, and code quality

Additional Information

  • This is a contract role with an initial short-term duration and potential for extension
  • Work may be performed in a hybrid or remote setting depending on project needs
  • Candidates should be comfortable working independently while contributing to Agile team environments
  • Experience with enterprise document management systems or content interoperability standards is a plus
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and microservices architecture is beneficial
