Job Overview

We are seeking a Technical Environment Manager to lead the coordination and governance of multiple enterprise-scale technical environments supporting a major investment management technology transformation. This role is critical to ensuring stable, secure, and compliant platforms that enable development, testing, and deployment of investment management systems. Candidates who demonstrate strong technical leadership, investment domain expertise, and cross-functional collaboration will be prioritized for interview consideration.


Must Haves

  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-tier technical environments within financial services or investment management

  • Strong working knowledge of investment data, trading, portfolio management, and reporting systems

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee development, testing, staging, production, and disaster recovery environments

  • Experience coordinating across infrastructure, application, security, and data engineering teams

  • Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies and environment lifecycle management

  • Ability to manage risk, compliance, and operational resilience in regulated environments

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders


What the Client Needs You to Do

In this role, you will ensure that enterprise investment platforms are delivered on stable and scalable environments that support strategic business outcomes. You will work closely with technology teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to align environment readiness with delivery milestones. Success in this position requires proactive risk management, structured coordination, and continuous optimization of environment performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead oversight and day-to-day management of multiple technical environments supporting investment management workflows

  • Ensure environments meet stability, scalability, availability, security, and compliance standards

  • Coordinate environment planning aligned with program phases, delivery timelines, and risk considerations

  • Manage interoperability across diverse technology stacks, ensuring data integrity and system reliability

  • Partner with architecture and engineering teams to support infrastructure for data ingestion, analytics, and portfolio platforms

  • Oversee deployment, configuration, and integration of internal systems and third-party investment platforms

  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and support processes to proactively address performance and capacity issues

  • Manage vendor activities including upgrades, patches, and issue escalation to minimize operational disruption

  • Collaborate with security and risk teams to enforce controls and address vulnerabilities

  • Support incident response, root cause analysis, and environment recovery efforts

  • Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency

  • Maintain clear documentation, standards, and environment best practices

  • Provide regular reporting on environment health, risks, and improvement initiatives

  • Act as a central point of coordination between business users, technology teams, and external partners


Additional Information

  • This role operates within a large-scale investment management technology program

  • Collaboration with global stakeholders across technology, operations, and business teams is expected

  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps delivery models is beneficial

  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and cloud-based platforms is advantageous

  • Prior exposure to outsourced investment or advisory operating models is a strong plus
