Job Overview
We are seeking an Infrastructure Automation & Integration Engineer for an urgent, hands-on engineering opportunity supporting complex infrastructure migration, modernization, and disaster recovery initiatives. The successful candidate will combine software development, systems engineering, and infrastructure automation skills to create reliable integrations and scalable solutions; strong PowerShell, API, and infrastructure experience will be essential to securing an interview.
Must Haves
- 4+ years of experience in infrastructure automation, systems engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, integration engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong PowerShell expertise with experience creating production-ready automation.
- Hands-on experience working with REST APIs and JSON.
- Solid knowledge of Windows and/or Linux infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning multiple systems and technology domains.
- Familiarity with Git or comparable source-control tools and standard software engineering practices.
- Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure concepts, including networking, DNS, authentication, storage, virtual machines, and operating systems.
- Ability to take technical requirements through solution design, development, testing, documentation, and delivery.
What the Client Needs You to Do
You will help transform complex, manual infrastructure processes into repeatable and scalable automation. Working closely with engineers, architects, technology partners, and customers, you will translate technical requirements into practical integrations and reusable capabilities. Success in this role means delivering dependable automation that connects diverse infrastructure environments while improving migration, modernization, and disaster recovery workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation and integrations that expand the capabilities of an infrastructure orchestration platform.
- Create reusable scripts, modules, workflows, and integration patterns using PowerShell, REST APIs, JSON, Bash, and other appropriate technologies.
- Connect virtualization platforms, cloud environments, migration technologies, operating systems, APIs, and enterprise infrastructure systems.
- Automate infrastructure migration, transformation, validation, and disaster recovery processes.
- Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into scalable technical solutions and implementation plans.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues involving APIs, authentication, networks, operating systems, virtualization, and third-party technologies.
- Develop data workflows that discover, transform, validate, and exchange information between disparate systems.
- Participate in customer workshops, technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept exercises, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify new integration opportunities and improve existing automation capabilities.
- Document technical solutions, deployment procedures, troubleshooting guidance, integration patterns, and best practices.
Additional Information
This position is suited to an engineer who enjoys understanding how complex systems operate and finding opportunities to automate them. You should be comfortable moving between API documentation, scripting, infrastructure troubleshooting, and customer discussions throughout the same project.
Experience with every technology listed below is not required. Exposure to several of these areas would be advantageous:
- VMware vSphere, HCX, or comparable virtualization technologies
- Nutanix AHV and Prism
- Microsoft Azure, Azure Local, or Hyper-V
- AWS or other public cloud environments
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Infrastructure and workload migration platforms
- Disaster recovery and replication solutions
- Python and/or Bash scripting
- SQL and relational databases
- OAuth, OIDC, or similar API authentication methods
- DevOps and CI/CD platforms
- Enterprise infrastructure discovery and data integration
The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and comfortable learning unfamiliar technologies quickly. You will be expected to understand new APIs and operational models, develop working automation, test solutions thoroughly, and maintain them over time.
Strong communication is important because the role involves direct interaction with technical customers, engineers, solution architects, and technology partners. A successful engineer will balance technical depth with practical problem-solving and will consistently favor maintainable, reusable solutions over one-off scripts.
