Job Overview

The Lead Financial Systems Analyst is a senior, hands-on role responsible for owning and optimizing a modern financial systems ecosystem centered on an ERP platform integrated with Salesforce. This position combines product ownership, technical execution, and cross-functional partnership to ensure financial systems are accurate, scalable, and aligned with business growth. Candidates who demonstrate deep ERP expertise, strong finance operations knowledge, and the ability to translate business needs into system solutions will be prioritized for interview consideration.

Must Haves

  • Proven experience serving as a product owner or senior administrator for a Certinia (FinancialForce) and Salesforce environment
  • Strong working knowledge of financial ERP modules, including accounting, billing, revenue recognition, and professional services automation
  • Hands-on expertise configuring workflows, automations, roles, permissions, and system controls
  • Solid understanding of GAAP-based accounting principles and financial operations
  • Experience managing ERP integrations with third-party billing, tax, or payment platforms
  • Ability to partner effectively with Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex systems in fast-paced environments

What the Client Needs You to Do

This role exists to ensure the financial systems landscape operates reliably while continuously improving efficiency and accuracy. You will own the ERP product roadmap, guide system enhancements, and directly execute configuration and optimization work. Success in this role requires balancing strategic planning with day-to-day technical ownership, supporting finance operations while enabling scalable growth through automation and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as product owner for the financial ERP platform, defining priorities and managing enhancement roadmaps
  • Own end-to-end system architecture, configuration, performance, and ongoing administration
  • Partner with finance leadership to design and maintain systems supporting billing, accounting, and reporting
  • Plan and manage system upgrades, releases, and enhancements with minimal business disruption
  • Configure and maintain workflows, automations, validation rules, roles, profiles, and permissions
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reconciliation across integrated financial systems
  • Design, maintain, and optimize integrations between ERP, CRM, and third-party platforms
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards for leadership and operational teams
  • Oversee system security, access controls, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Lead change management, testing, and release processes across environments
  • Monitor system health, proactively identifying and resolving issues before operational impact
  • Provide frontline support and guidance to finance and operations system users

Additional Information

  • Financial Operations Support:

    • Partner with finance teams during month-end and year-end close activities
    • Support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and revenue recognition processes
    • Validate order entry, billing readiness, credit processing, and reconciliations
    • Assist with audit preparation, documentation, and system rollovers

  • Business Partnership & Enablement:

    • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Operations to streamline processes and improve automation
    • Serve as a trusted advisor on system capabilities, reporting strategy, and data governance
    • Deliver user training and enablement sessions to promote adoption and best practices
    • Stay current on ERP and CRM platform updates, recommending improvements proactively

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years in financial systems, ERP administration, or finance operations roles
    • 3+ years of hands-on Certinia (FinancialForce) administration experience
    • 2+ years of Salesforce administration experience, including user training
    • Experience supporting financial integrations, APIs, or managed connectors

  • Work Environment:

    • Hybrid or remote work structure depending on location and team needs
    • Occasional travel required, typically a few times per year for meetings or planning sessions
    • Individual contributor role with no direct supervisory responsibilities
