Job Overview

A major infrastructure organization is seeking a Lead Network Administrator (CCIE) to oversee the design, configuration, and performance of enterprise data communication systems. This role focuses on ensuring network reliability, scalability, and security across complex environments. Onsite work is preferred due to the hands-on nature of this position.

Must Haves

  • Active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – written and practical
  • 6+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures
  • Expertise with Cisco technologies, especially VXLAN, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPN solutions
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN integration and routing protocols
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving large-scale network issues
  • Ability to manage vendors, lead technical projects, and coordinate across departments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

What the Client Needs You to Do

Lead and optimize enterprise network infrastructure to ensure continuous, secure, and efficient operations. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver network improvements and implement technology upgrades supporting business continuity and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment
  • Manage routing, switching, and security protocols for enterprise systems
  • Research and recommend new technologies, equipment, and standards
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues with minimal downtime
  • Develop and document network policies, procedures, and improvement plans
  • Evaluate infrastructure for new construction projects and system expansions
  • Coordinate network cabling, hardware placement, and equipment relocation
  • Mentor team members and serve as escalation point for networking tasks

  • May require occasional on-call or emergency availability
  • Additional years of directly related experience may offset degree requirements
