Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to annuities, including product launches, system integrations, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including actuarial, finance, compliance, and IT, to ensure annuity-related projects align with business objectives and client needs.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, defining scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to implement annuity system enhancements, such as policy administration platforms or customer-facing digital tools, on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project roadmaps, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and regulatory requirements in the annuities market.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and obstacles, proactively developing mitigation plans to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide regular updates, reports, and dashboards to stakeholders and senior leadership using tools like Smartsheet or Jira.
- Drive process improvements to streamline annuity operations, enhance customer experience, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines (e.g., NAIC, FINRA, SEC) and internal policies during project execution.
- Mentor team members on project management best practices and foster a culture of collaboration within the annuities team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Project Management (50%)
- 5+ years of experience managing projects, with at least 3 years focused on annuities or financial services products.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects involving cross-functional teams, delivering measurable improvements in product delivery or operational efficiency.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage stakeholders and drive project outcomes.
- Experience developing detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocations using tools like Smartsheet, Jira, or MS Project.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Annuities Expertise (50%)
- Deep understanding of annuity products (e.g., fixed, variable, indexed annuities) and their operational, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with annuity systems, such as policy administration platforms (e.g., LifePRO, Vantage) or customer relationship management tools.
- Familiarity with financial services regulations (e.g., NAIC, FINRA, SEC) and their impact on annuity product development and operations.
- Knowledge of process optimization methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) applied to annuity operations or client servicing.
Additional Considerations
- Certifications such as PMP, CFP, or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based financial tools (e.g., AWS, Salesforce) or digital transformation initiatives in the annuities space is highly valued.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies or DevOps principles for project delivery is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry or broader financial services sector is a plus.
- Candidates must be local to Boston to facilitate collaboration and occasional on-site work.
