Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Program/Project Manager with deep healthcare payer expertise to lead multiple complex, high-impact initiatives. This role requires a systems-oriented leader who can navigate ambiguity, translate strategic objectives into actionable delivery plans, and drive measurable results across business and technology teams. To secure an interview, candidates should demonstrate strong healthcare payer experience, a proven record managing complex programs, and hands-on leadership with AI or emerging technology initiatives.

Must Haves

• Healthcare payer, health insurance, or managed care experience with a strong understanding of payer operations and member-facing processes.
• Experience with CRM platforms, member engagement solutions, and the business and technical ecosystems that support customer or member experiences.
• Proven ability to manage 2–4 concurrent complex projects or large-scale programs with significant dependencies, competing priorities, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience leading initiatives involving AI, machine learning, generative AI, or large language models to improve business processes, customer experiences, or operational efficiency.
• Strong technical and integration literacy, with the ability to partner effectively with architecture, engineering, data, and technology teams.
• Advanced program and project planning capabilities, including the ability to build detailed Work Breakdown Structures, milestones, ownership models, and dependency plans from ambiguous strategic goals.
• Expertise in identifying, assessing, and proactively mitigating technical, regulatory, operational, and delivery risks.
• Experience leading projects using Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies, with sound judgment about which approach best fits the initiative.

The successful candidate will bring structure, momentum, and accountability to a portfolio of strategically important initiatives. You will connect business strategy with execution by understanding how people, processes, technology, and external partners interact across the broader program landscape.

You will be expected to:

• Translate complex business objectives into executable roadmaps with clear deliverables, milestones, owners, and success measures.
• Create and maintain process maps that identify upstream and downstream impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Drive alignment among executive stakeholders, business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and other cross-functional partners.
• Make timely, data-informed decisions and remove obstacles that could delay critical outcomes.
• Establish strong governance practices while maintaining a practical, action-oriented approach to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple concurrent projects and programs from initiation through implementation, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and business outcomes.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, Work Breakdown Structures, milestone schedules, dependency maps, and ownership models.
• Facilitate process discovery and systems thinking exercises to evaluate the people, process, technology, and operational impacts of proposed changes.
• Partner closely with engineering, architecture, data, product, and business teams to coordinate technical integrations and delivery requirements.
• Drive initiatives involving AI, machine learning, LLMs, or other emerging technologies, helping translate business opportunities into practical solutions.
• Establish and maintain program governance, including executive reporting, decision logs, risk management, issue escalation, and stakeholder communications.
• Identify technical, regulatory, operational, and organizational risks early and implement mitigation strategies before they affect delivery.
• Adapt delivery approaches by applying Agile, Waterfall, or blended methodologies based on project complexity, organizational needs, and implementation requirements.
• Manage external vendors and strategic partners, ensuring accountability for commitments, deliverables, timelines, and quality.
• Influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders through strong communication, executive presence, sound judgment, and a demonstrated bias for action.
