Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a scalable automation framework, with a strong focus on Windows UI applications. This role requires hands-on expertise in automation strategy, tool evaluation, and framework development to enhance testing efficiency and quality outcomes. Must Haves
- Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks, particularly for Windows UI applications
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as C#, .NET, JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell
- Hands-on experience automating tests for both desktop (Windows) and web-based applications
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and test lifecycle processes
- Experience with SaaS or cloud-based application testing and underlying infrastructure concepts
- Working knowledge of relational databases and ability to write SQL queries
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Ability to collaborate effectively across QA, development, and product teams

- Lead the design and rollout of a modular automation framework for Windows UI, with extensibility to web applications
- Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to refine automation strategies and tooling decisions
- Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies through proof-of-concepts and ROI analysis
- Promote continuous improvement through innovation, knowledge sharing, and mentorship
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a scalable automation framework tailored for Windows UI applications
- Extend automation capabilities to support web UI testing using modern tools and libraries
- Define and implement core framework components, including object repositories, test data management, logging, and reporting
- Build and maintain automated test suites covering functional, regression, and smoke testing scenarios
- Implement parallel execution strategies to improve test speed and reliability
- Establish and enforce coding standards and QA best practices across automation efforts
- Integrate automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines and test management systems
- Develop automated reporting solutions to provide clear, actionable quality metrics
- Partner with stakeholders to define testable requirements, acceptance criteria, and risk-based testing strategies
- Evaluate tools for additional capabilities such as web load testing and unified reporting
- Create comprehensive documentation, onboarding materials, and training sessions for QA teams
- Mentor team members and contribute to ongoing improvements in QA processes and standards
Additional Information
- This role may involve a hybrid or remote work arrangement depending on project needs
- Experience with ERP systems or domain-specific operational platforms is considered a plus
- Familiarity with transit or scheduling applications is beneficial but not required
