We are seeking a contract-based AI Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable AI-powered web applications in a regulated environment. This role focuses on building and deploying solutions using modern cloud-based AI services, with an emphasis on responsible AI practices and user-centered design. Candidates with strong hands-on experience in AI development, cloud platforms, and front-end integration will be prioritized for interview consideration.
Must Haves
- 3–5 years of experience in application development with a focus on AI/ML implementation
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with cloud-based AI services, including managed LLM platforms
- Strong understanding of AI/ML frameworks, model deployment, and performance optimization
- Experience integrating applications within complex enterprise systems and architectures
- Proficiency in front-end development using React and TypeScript
- Experience designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for AI-driven applications
- Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

- Lead the end-to-end development of AI-powered applications in a secure cloud environment
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI integration and process improvement
- Ensure responsible AI practices, including transparency, security, and compliance
- Contribute to continuous improvement through innovation and knowledge sharing
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy AI solutions using modern cloud-based AI and machine learning services
- Build and enhance web-based applications that integrate AI capabilities into existing workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- Integrate AI components into enterprise systems using established application integration patterns
- Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces for AI-powered tools using modern front-end technologies
- Participate in code versioning, peer reviews, and CI/CD processes to ensure high-quality releases
- Produce clear technical documentation, including artifacts required for compliance and knowledge transfer
- Engage directly with stakeholders to communicate progress, gather feedback, and refine solutions
- Advocate for technical integrity, transparency, and responsible AI development practices
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island
- This is a contract opportunity with potential for extension based on project needs
- Experience working in regulated industries or public sector environments is highly valued
- Familiarity with compliance standards and security best practices is preferred
- Relevant cloud or AI certifications are considered a plus
