Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Network Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale network programs, including LAN/WAN, cloud networking, and network security initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to design and implement scalable network solutions that align with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of network projects, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute network infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new implementations on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and technology strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and obstacles to ensure successful program outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates, reporting, and dashboards to stakeholders and senior leadership using tools like Smartsheet and Jira.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance project delivery, reduce costs, and improve network reliability and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with network security standards and regulatory requirements during project implementation.
  • Mentor technical teams on program management best practices, networking technologies, and process optimization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Program Management (50%)

  • 7+ years of experience managing technical programs, with at least 5 years focused on network infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale network initiatives, including LAN/WAN, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security projects.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocations using tools like Smartsheet and Jira.

Network Expertise (50%)

  • Deep understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPNs) and their application in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating them with on-premises systems.
  • Knowledge of network security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles for efficient project delivery.

Additional Considerations

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CCNA, CCNP, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking are a plus.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and certifications like Jira Administrator or Confluence Administrator are highly valued.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation in Atlassian products (e.g., Jira Automation, ScriptRunner) or platforms like GitLab/GitHub is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry is a plus.
  • Candidates must be local to Boston to facilitate collaboration and occasional on-site work.
